Alberta proclaims increment in the nomination intake for 2018

5,600 nominations have been announced for the maximum Provincial Nominee Program budgeting 2018 by Alberta.

A rise of 100 nominations has been recorded in the 2018 maximum over the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program ( AINP)’s budgeting for 2017 which was 5,500 nominations.

The Multi-year Immigration plan, which was announced, last year by the federal government on November 1, 2017 resulted in a slight increment in the 2018 budgeting. The objective of the federal plan was to achieve an increased Provincial Nominee Program target of 55,000 for 2018, that is an eight per cent increase over 2017’s target which was 51,000.

Introducing new immigration streams in 2018

Currently, there are three immigration streams which are working under Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, the Strategic Recruitment Stream, Employer-Driven Scheme and the self Employed Farmer Scheme.

The Alberta Opportunity Scheme is expected to be a fusion of the Strategic Recruitment scheme and the Employer Driven Stream this year.

There is also a conjecture about Alberta to introduce another scheme in 2018 affiliated with the federal Express Entry pool. The scheme is much awaited as the details have still not revealed yet.

Due to this Alberta Express Entry Stream, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program would be able to give a finite amount of nominations from the three economic immigration classes of the federal government which are the Federal Skilled Worker Class ( FSWC), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The AINP has listed the following 10 National Occupational Classification Codes which covers almost half of the applications received for the provincial nominations certificates

0621 – Retail and Wholesale Trade Managers

0631 – Restaurants and Food Services Managers

1221 – Administrative officers

1241 – Administrative Assistants

6211 – Retails Sales Supervisor

6311 – Food Service Supervisors

6315 – Cleaning Supervisors

6421 – Retail Salespersons

7284 – Plasters, Drywall installers and Finishers and Lathers

7511 – Transport Truck Drivers.
